Incogniton is a free anti-detect browser that allows you to browse the internet with enhanced privacy and anonymity. This Chromium-based browser is ideal for multi-account management because it lets you create multiple separate profiles.
But if you want to truly protect your privacy and assign dedicated IP addresses to each profile, you need a proxy, such as Proxying. If the process sounds complicated to you, this guide will help you understand how to integrate any proxy with Incogniton in just a few steps.
Why Use Proxies with Incogniton
Here are some of the advantages of using a proxy with this anti-detect browser:
- The combination of Incogniton and a proxy leads to separate metadata for each profile. This enables multi-account separation in the true sense.
- This pairing combines Incogniton’s ability to hide digital fingerprints with the proxy hiding your IP address. This provides you with a higher level of security and anonymity, whether you are looking for casual streaming or running Facebook ads.
- You can customize each profile by choosing a different type of proxy for each one. For example, you can assign a residential proxy to Profile 1 and a static residential proxy to Profile 2.
- This lets you easily bypass geo-restrictions and access region-blocked platforms with ease.
- Since the Incogniton browser lets you create up to 10 profiles for free, you don’t have to worry about spending extra for the Incogniton proxy.
Note: Anti-detect browsers, such as Incogniton, are not the same as your browser’s incognito mode. Incognito mode only prevents the browser history from being stored, while anti-detect browsers are well-known for supporting multi-account management.
How to Integrate Proxying with Incogniton [5 Simple Steps]
By now, you know what an anti-detect browser is and the benefits of combining Incogniton with a proxy. Now, let’s look at how to integrate Proxying (or another proxy provider) with Incogniton in a few simple steps.
Step 1: Download the Incogniton Browser
Go to the official Incogniton website and download the desktop application. Install the browser and sign in to your account. You can also sign up using your Google account, or simply create a new Incogniton account.
Step 2: Create a New Profile
Once you are on the Incogniton dashboard, select “Create new profile” to open the profile setup screen. Give your profile a suitable name so you can easily identify it later.
Step 3: Enter Proxy Details
Open the proxy settings and select the connection type supported by your Proxying plan, such as HTTP(S) or SOCKS5. Enter your IP address, port, username, and password in their respective fields. You can find these details in your Proxying dashboard or account information.
Note: Contact our customer support team if you can’t find your port, username, or password. Or you can join our Discord or Telegram community for assistance.
Step 4: Test the Proxy Connection
Once the proxy connection is verified, save your profile by selecting Create profile. Now return to the dashboard and click Start next to your new profile to launch the browser.
To confirm that everything is working correctly, visit an IP-checking website to verify whether the shown IP address matches your proxy settings.
Step 5: Start Browsing
That’s it! Your Incogniton profile is now configured to use your proxy connection.
Select the profile from the home page and access any website securely while hiding your identity. Now, you can also access any geo-blocked platforms.
Note: If you want to use unique proxies across multiple profiles, configure each profile separately. Using a different proxy for each profile lets us maintain separate identities. Note that Incogniton’s free Starter plan currently includes 10 profiles for the first two months.
Common Incogniton Proxy Issues [And How to Fix Them]
Although integrating a proxy with Incogniton is not that difficult, you may encounter a few issues during configuration. Here are some common Incogniton proxy issues.
Incogniton Proxy Connection Failed
If Incogniton cannot connect to your proxy, you may have entered incorrect connection details or selected an unsupported protocol. Temporary network issues or an unavailable proxy server can also prevent a successful connection.
How to Fix It:
Check your proxy host, port, username, and password for typing errors. Also make sure the selected protocol matches your proxy provider’s settings.
Incorrect Proxy Username or Password
Sometimes, Incogniton may reject your proxy credentials even when the rest of the configuration looks correct. This can happen if you accidentally copy an incomplete username or password, include extra spaces, or use outdated credentials.
How to Fix It:
Copy your latest credentials directly from your Proxying dashboard and paste them into the appropriate fields. Make sure the username and password are entered separately.
Connection Test Failed
A failed proxy test means Incogniton could not verify the connection using your current settings. The cause of this issue might be an incorrect port, a protocol mismatch, or an unavailable proxy endpoint.
How to Fix It:
In order to fix this issue, review all connection details and confirm that your proxy supports the selected protocol, such as HTTP(S) or SOCKS5. Next, make sure the settings are correct and also check your internet connection.
Incogniton Shows the Wrong IP Address
Sometimes you may connect to a proxy successfully but notice that an IP-checking website displays an unexpected IP address or location. This is because you might have selected a different proxy location than intended (or maybe the website uses an outdated IP geolocation database).
How to Fix It:
Go to the Incogniton home page and check your proxy configuration to confirm that you selected the correct location. Visit another reputable IP-checking website to compare the results.
Websites Still Block Access
Even after connecting your proxy, you may find that certain websites remain inaccessible. Websites/Streaming services can still restrict access if they detect the proxy connection, or if any activity triggers their security systems.
How to Fix It:
First, verify that your proxy is working and that its IP address matches the intended location. Then check whether the website itself is experiencing an issue or restricting access to your selected region.
Note: Keep in mind that a working proxy does not guarantee access to every website or geo-restricted service. However, Proxying’s proxies ensure you can access geo-restricted platforms most of the time.
